Your First Visit
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR FIRST VISIT
Thank you so much for considering Ferguson Family Chiropractic for your wellness and health goals. To prepare you for your experience with our office, here you will find what to expect from your first and second visit with us.
Your first two visits will range 60 – 90 minutes, so that we can best understand & review your condition and provide you with detailed information to help you meet your goals. We value your time; this structure allows your subsequent adjustment visits to be a seamless part of your routine.
At Ferguson Family Chiropractic our examination process is geared toward detection and correction of the “Vertebral Subluxation”. The process we use is specifically selected for your spine and nervous system health.
NEW PERSON FORMS
When you enter Ferguson Family Chiropractic, the first faces you’ll see is that of our friendly front office staff.
If you need to complete your paperwork, you will be given time to do so; the information you provide helps us to understand your condition and health history, and keeps us compliant.
Note: Our forms are available online! Bringing your forms completed and signed will save you 15 minutes or more. If you need to complete our forms in office, we are more than happy to accommodate you; please arrive 15 minutes prior to your designated appointment time to ensure that you get started in a timely manner.
CONSULTATION & EXAMINATION
Your consultation is a time for you to discuss the reasons you are seeking chiropractic care. We will collect pertinent information from you regarding your health history in addition to your concerns and goals. Our doctors and staff will also provide education about how chiropractic care will help you to achieve your vision of health.
You will receive a complete chiropractic evaluation, performed by our staff. This process includes checking your range of motion, weight distribution, posture, and spinal palpation. All exams will be rendered upon patient consent.
INSIGHT 7000 SURFACE EMG
The Insight 7000 helps to detect and pinpoint abnormal nervous system function that is not detectable on X-rays or MRIs. These disturbances reveal subluxations or spinal imbalances.
The 2 tests used in our office are:

SEMG measures muscle activity and the amount of electric current present, which examines the motor system of the body.

Thermography measures skin temperature differences in the spine, which measures the autonomic nervous system of the body.
Both tests are non-invasive and safe for infants, children, pregnant women, and adults.
X-RAY STUDIES
Depending on your specific condition, we may recommend between one to six digital x-ray views. This is not necessary in all cases. All x-rays are completed on the premises by one of our staff members.
An x-ray analysis is used to further understand the condition of your spine. In specific cases, It is important to view the structure of your spine through the use of x-ray analysis to check for degeneration. If you are a candidate for x-ray analysis due to your condition, it will further assist your doctor in developing the most beneficial chiropractic care plan for you. All x-rays are completed on the premises by one of our staff members.
Please note, the first adjustment is typically provided on the follow up visit, the Report of Findings. Adjustments on your New Person visit is at the discretion of the doctors and is not guaranteed.
WHAT COMES NEXT?
REPORT OF FINDINGS
Once your examination is complete, you will be scheduled for a follow-up visit to review your results. After analyzing your health history, assessing your spine (and x-rays if needed), test results and personal health goals, the doctor will make a recommendation for future care. By the end of the Report of Findings session the following questions will be answered:

ADJUSTMENT
At the end of the second visit, you can choose to receive your initial Chiropractic adjustment. Your care is very specific to your condition and goals and will benefit you each visit. Typically, our doctors do not adjust on your first visit so that they may review your exams and determine the recommended course of action for your care. Your opinion and comfort are very important to us and because our doctors specialize in several different Chiropractic techniques, they can discuss and implement a style that you are most comfortable with.
COMPLETE CARE
Questions and concerns are always welcomed because the education that accompanies the care will help you to understand the importance of what we do and how it benefits your health. Care without education isn't complete! We make sure our patients have both!
